TOKYO, Aug 2 -- Valarie Allman of the United States clinched victory in the women’s discus throw at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday, Xinhua reported.
The final was interrupted by heavy rain and Allman won with 68.98 metres in her first attempt.
Kristin Pudenz of German refreshed her personal best with 66.86m to bag a silver, Yaime Perez of Cuba took bronze with 65.72m. Chen Yang of China finished 10th with 61.57m.
